Date,Banana,Coconut,Hemp Balls

I admit it…i have a sweet tooth. Dates have been my go-to. I store them in my refrigerator which makes them last longer in my mouth since they harden a bit when they’re cold. Dates are so healthy…they are an alkaline food which means they help to promote mental alertness, reduce candida growth, generate healthier tissues, ensure proper functioning of our cells and reduce the risk of muscle degeneration and chronic diseases and help stabilize our cravings.* Much of the Standard American Diet is acidic (meats, processed foods, dairy, food dyes, white foods, sugar). The more we can add in alkaline foods (leafy greens, fruits, veggies, nuts, legumes) the better off we’ll be. These energy balls are SO satisfying and DELICIOUS…not to mention super simple! Give them a try and let me know what you think.

Ingredients:

12 medjool dates, pitted

2 ripe or overripe bananas

1/4 C shredded unsweetened coconut

1/4 C hemp seeds

Directions:

Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl. Once mixed place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Place parchment paper on a large cookie sheet and roll the mixture into balls. Place in oven for 15-20 minutes. Remove, let cool then enjoy! I keep mine in the refrigerator and can also be frozen for up to three months. The hemp seeds give these babies an added Omega-3 and protein boost - an overall awesome snack!
